About Me

A Malaysian Architecture student at the Manchester School of Architecture who dabbles in photography.

Nicolas is a second year Architecture student at the Manchester School of Architecture. He has firm aspirations of pursuing the Art of Design and finds that it has affected his outlook on life. The pragmatic critical-thinking, the desire to use his hands and, the freedom to express; these are the joys that drive him to create - to Design.

Nicolas’ persistent and detail-oriented nature paired with his unbridled curiosity for the world has put him on the path to discovering the Built Environment.

Thriving within his journey as a Bachelor in Architecture, he begins to hone his professional skills through actively pursuing real world opportunities, exploring digital skills as forms of expression through CAD & BIM softwares and is beginning to develop a firm & educated passion in cultural preservation.

Nicolas is passionate about respecting the urban fabric, how the fragments within it interplay in respect to the environment and the relationship they have with the human scale.

‘It is paramount - an aesthetic building without basis or precedent is redundant. Respecting the site, the materiality, the context; the orientation of the rise / fall of the sun… Good Architecture, to me, reflects upon the willingness to consider all the factor in a cohesive proposal that celebrates the existing Built Environment.’

To use design to shape his fundamental values - of functionality, of sustainability, of simplicity. This is what he seeks to develop.
